Zelboraf Drug Interactions

Zelboraf Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative reactions that can occur when Zelboraf is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Clomipramine
Zelboraf may increase the level of clomipramine in your blood, potentially increasing your risk for clomipramine side effects. If you take these medicines together, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely for side effects and decrease your dose if necessary.

Clozapine
Zelboraf may increase the level of clozapine in your blood, potentially increasing your risk for clozapine side effects. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your clozapine level more closely, and adjust your dose if necessary, when you start or stop taking Zelboraf.

Colchicine
Zelboraf increases blood levels of colchicine, which could increase your risk for potentially serious colchicine side effects. Do not take these medications together without first talking to your healthcare provider. You may need a lower colchicine dose.

CYP 3A4 Inducer Medications
The liver breaks down Zelboraf using enzymes known as CYP 3A4 enzymes. Certain medications known as CYP 3A4 inducers can increase the activity of these enzymes. Combining Zelboraf with one of these CYP 3A4 inducers may decrease the level of Zelboraf in your bloodstream, potentially making it less effective. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking Zelboraf with a CYP 3A4 inducer.

CYP 3A4 Inhibitor Medications
The liver breaks down Zelboraf using enzymes known as CYP 3A4 enzymes. Certain medications known as CYP 3A4 inhibitors can decrease the activity of these enzymes. Combining Zelboraf with one of these CYP 3A4 inhibitors may increase the level of Zelboraf in your bloodstream, potentially increasing your risk for side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking Zelboraf with a CYP 3A4 inhibitor.
