Solaraze Gel Drug Interactions

Some of the medications that can potentially interact with Solaraze Gel include ACE inhibitors, certain diuretics, lithium, and some skin products. Some of these drug interactions can increase your risk of dangerous side effects, such as kidney damage or bleeding. Before using Solaraze Gel, talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any drug interactions that may apply to you.

An Overview of Solaraze Gel Drug Interactions

Even though Solaraze® Gel (diclofenac gel) is applied to the skin, it can potentially interact with several other medications (as some of the medication is absorbed into the bloodstream). Some of these medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Solaraze Gel include:
 
  • ACE inhibitors, including:

 

 

  • Anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs, such as:

 

    • Aspirin (Bayer® and others)
    • Cilostazol (Pletal®)
    • Clopidogrel (Plavix®)
    • Dipyridamole (Persantine®)
    • Eptifibatide (Integrilin®)
    • Heparin or heparin-like products, including dalteparin (Fragmin®), enoxaparin (Lovenox®), or tinzaparin (Innohep®)
    • Other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:

 

 

 

  • Certain diuretics, such as:

 

 

  • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
  • Lithium (Eskalith®, Lithobid®)
  • Methotrexate (Rheumatrex®)
  • Skin products such as cosmetics, lotions, or creams.
