Solaraze Gel Dosage: An Introduction
The dose of
Solaraze® Gel (
diclofenac gel) your healthcare provider recommends will largely depend on how well you respond to the medication. As is always the case, do not adjust your dosing unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
Solaraze Gel Dosing for Actinic Keratosis
The standard recommended Solaraze Gel dosage for actinic keratosis treatment is an adequate amount of the gel (enough to cover the lesion) applied twice daily. Larger lesions will require more gel, as the entire lesion must be covered. The gel should be gently smoothed onto the skin.
Treatment usually lasts 60 to 90 days. Some people notice improvement right away, while others will not notice significant benefit until after the medication is stopped.
General Dosage Information for Solaraze Gel
Some considerations for people taking this product include the following:
- Solaraze Gel is usually applied to the skin twice a day for 60 to 90 days. It should be noted that continued improvement may occur for up to 30 days after the medication is stopped.
- Do not apply a bandage or dressing over the gel.
- Wash your hands after applying the gel, unless you are treating your hands.
- Do not use lotions, cosmetics, insect repellants, or any other products on the skin where you apply the gel.
- For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. Be sure to use it for the full 60 or 90 days that your healthcare provider recommends.
