Yervoy Medication Information

Available by prescription only, YervoyTM (ipilimumab) is licensed to treat advanced melanoma skin cancer in adults. This drug is approved for use when the cancer has spread to other areas of the body (metastasized) or cannot be treated with surgery. It comes as an intravenous (IV) infusion that is administered by your healthcare provider every three weeks for up to four doses.

This medication works by helping to boost the body's immune system and increase the number of certain white blood cells. These white blood cells help to attack and destroy cancer cells. As a result, Yervoy can help slow down the progression of cancer and extend survival time.

Before starting treatment with Yervoy, make sure to review the medication's safety information with your healthcare provider. For instance, you may not be able to use this product if you have certain allergies or if you are taking certain other drugs.
