Aldara Medication Information
Aldara® (imiquimod cream) is a medicated skin cream prescribed to treat:
- Actinic keratosis (a type of precancerous skin lesion)
- Basal cell carcinoma (a type of skin cancer)
- Genital or perianal warts.
The medicine comes in the form of a cream that is applied to the affected areas of the skin two to five times a week, depending on the reason it is being used. Possible side effects of this drug may include skin reactions, such as redness, swelling, and dryness.
