Proleukin Side Effects

Serious Side Effects

Some side effects of Proleukin are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
    • Dizziness
    • Lightheadedness
    • Fainting
  • Chest pain (angina) or pressure
  • Redness, blistering, flaking, or peeling of the skin
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising (see Blood Clotting Problems and Chemotherapy)
  • Black, tarry, or bloody stools
  • Vomiting blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
  • Persistent vomiting or diarrhea
  • Reduced urination or an inability to urinate
  • An irregular, rapid, or pounding heartbeat
  • Swelling of the arms, hands, legs, ankles, or feet
  • Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, or a new or worsening cough
  • Sores or ulcers in the mouth or throat (see Mouth and Gum Problems During Chemotherapy)
  • Yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes
  • Signs of anemia, such as:
  • Signs of infection, such as:
  • Pain, redness, irritation, or swelling at the site of the injection
  • Mood changes, such as depression or irritability
  • Confusion or difficulty thinking
  • Difficulty speaking or walking
  • Vision changes, such as loss of vision
  • Seizures
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling, especially of the mouth, lips, or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
