Is It Safe for Children to Use Proleukin?

Proleukin has not been adequately studied in children and is not approved for use in people younger than 18 years old. Talk to your child's healthcare provider about the risks and benefits of using this medicine in children.
 

Can Older Adults Use It?

Older adults can use Proleukin. In clinical studies, older adults did not respond any differently to the medication than younger age groups. However, there were very few older adults who participated in these studies.
 
In general, older adults may be more sensitive to the effects of this medication, and may have an increased risk for developing certain Proleukin side effects, such as kidney damage and shortness of breath.
 

Off-Label Proleukin Uses

On occasion, a healthcare provider may recommend this drug for treating something other than the conditions listed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. Proleukin may be used off-label to treat the following conditions:
