Skin Cancer Home > Aldara Drug Interactions

Aldara® (imiquimod cream) is unlikely to interact with most other medications. However, it could interfere with other products that contain the same active ingredient, specifically Zyclara® (which contains a lower concentration of imiquimod). Because Zyclara and generic versions of Aldara contain imiquimod, there is no reason to combine these medications; doing so may increase the risk for side effects, including severe skin reactions.

It is reasonable to expect that Aldara might, at least theoretically, react with other skin medications, especially those that are harsh or cause irritation. Aldara typically causes skin reactions, which can vary from a little redness to severe open sores. Choose gentle skincare products while using this medication.

It is possible that not all drug interactions with Aldara were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about the specific interactions that may apply to you.
