DTIC
As a type of chemotherapy drug, DTIC-Dome® (dacarbazine) is prescribed to treat malignant melanoma that has spread to other areas of the body (metastasized). It is also approved for use in combination with other medications to treat Hodgkin's disease. It comes as an injection that is given into a vein once a day for 5 to 10 days, followed by a break in treatment.
When undergoing therapy with DTIC-Dome, you should understand the potential risks associated with this medicine. For example, this medication may not be safe for use in people with certain allergies or those taking certain medications or herbal supplements. Also, people who have kidney disease, liver disease, or other medical issues should discuss whether DTIC-Dome is an appropriate medicine for their situation.
